Leadership dedicated to the service, development and empowerment of Vanvasi communities.
Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram was founded in 1952 by Shri Ramakant Keshav Deshpande (Balasaheb Deshpande), an officer of the Tribal Welfare Department, with the inspiration to serve and uplift Vanvasi communities across India.
During his work in the tribal-dominated Jashpur region, he witnessed the social and educational challenges faced by tribal communities. With dedication and selfless service, he started the first Ashram with only six Oraon tribal children.
The organisation focused on education, healthcare, self-reliance, cultural preservation and national integration. In 1963, the permanent office of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram was inaugurated by Pujaniya Shri M. S. Golwalkar (Guruji).
Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is guided by dedicated leadership committed to the holistic development of Vanvasi communities across India. Under the guidance of the National President, the organisation continues to expand its service activities in education, healthcare, self-reliance, sports, social awareness and cultural preservation.
With thousands of dedicated volunteers serving across the country, the Ashram works to strengthen tribal communities while preserving their rich cultural heritage and promoting sustainable development.
The organisation continues to inspire society through service, selfless dedication and nation-building, reaching remote tribal regions with education, healthcare and community development programmes.
